2014 New TOEIC 考試心得 1

Listening

整體考題難度、發音、速度，及主題多元性與OG相近。發音部分，除了Part3少數部分有快速帶過(發音模糊)的情形，整體念得很清晰。口音多以美式口音為主。保守估計，若有充分練習及掌握重要單字和答題技巧，在沒粗心的情況下， 至少可答對60題，得到345+ 分。

這次沒有考到的主題：airport or flight related; weather reports; health related.

提醒: Part 2只有三個選項，但答案卡上有ABCD四個選項，請考生小心別畫錯！

Q1. 一台卡車在馬路邊，一群人或站或坐車旁。

Answer: The men are sitting near the truck.

Q2. 一個女人在操作一台大小如桌上型電腦主機的東西，機殼是開的。

Answer: She is working on some equipment.

(wrong option: She is turning on the machine.)

Q3. 一群女人正從公車上走下來。

Answer: They are exiting a vehicle.

Q4. 兩個女人微笑地和彼此握手。

Answer: They are greeting each other.

(wrong option: They are waving at each other.)

Q5. 一個男人站在水邊，旁邊有一艘船。

Answer: The man is facing the water. (陷阱選項有出現boat，但詳細敘述不符)

Q6. 一家賣包包的店裡，一個男人正拿一個包包給一個女人，旁邊還有另一個人。

Answer: The clerk is assisting a client = customer.

(陷阱選項有出現bag，但詳細敘述不符)

Q7. 一個男人面對一個大格子櫃，格子裡都有紙，他從一個格子拿紙張。

Answer: He is taking something from the shelves.

Q9. 拍一堆類似個人工作室中的物品，其中一個鍵盤上方有螢幕。

Answer: There is a monitor above the keyboard.

Q10. 難題：一條馬路兩邊有樹，右邊靠一排車，馬路底端有一棟房子。

Answer: Shadows (在此指樹蔭)are cast on the street.　

(wrong option: The leaves have fallen all over the road.)

1.  低難度的基本拿分題只要聽到開頭往往可選出答案：How long(回：時間長度)、Who / When / Where (分別回：人、時間或日期、地點)、A or B (二擇一)
2. 中難度的問題需要考生多聽一點資訊：開頭為Do /Did you…? Why…? Why not / How about…(皆屬提議型！)? 我記得的Q&A如下：

  3.  高難度的問題需要考生聽懂全部：statements。本次也出一題較特別的格式，是以問題回答問題。

Ex: Q: Did you call Jim last night?

       A: Weren’t you supposed to contact him instead?

Conversation 1.

A woman went to LA to see her daughter, and after she came back, the man is asking about her trip.

Conversation 2.

A woman just bought a new car. The man is asking details about it.

Conversation 3.

Two people are talking about a play that they enjoyed. They also liked the atmosphere of the theater where the play is performed.

Conversation 4.

A woman wants to discuss a project with the man, but his schedule is packed, so he does not have time for the whole day. The woman then suggests to have a discussion the next day, and the man agrees.

Conversation 5.

Two people are talking about their internship, which will happen in May, at the same time they planned to travel overseas for a fashion show, so they are discussing how to deal with it. The woman proposes to ask the company to reschedule their internship start date to solve the schedule conflict, and the man agrees. He will call the HR Department.

Conversation 6.

The man calls the company where the woman works at to refill an order, and since he is already a customer there, the woman asks for his account number to pull out his information. Then the man asks about the delivery date, because the order last time was late by one week. The woman explains the cause of delay and ensures him that they will deliver on time.

Conversation 7.

The man calls for an ad he saw about opening free bank accounts. The woman tells him that the person in charge (假設為Mr. X) just went out for lunch, but the man can leave his phone number with her, and she will have Mr. X call him back. The man agreed.

Talk 1.

This is an announcement made in a department store about an upcoming product display. The speaker urges people to go to a certain area located on the 2^nd floor to join the event.

Talk 2.

The head of the production department talks to his staff. He tells them that people from a sewing machine company are going to come to assemble new sewing and knitting machines for them to use at work. The machines are relatively easy to operate, so the speaker believes that all workers should be able to learn how to operate them properly by the end of the day.

Talk 3.

The speaker is introducing the house of a famous writer who already passed away for many years. She is going to let visitors tour the house of this writer, and finally mentions the auditorium next to the house, where people can later get information about some event.

Talk 4.

The speaker is updating the traffic condition. It is congested in the highway area, because people are heading towards the stadium to watch a ball game. He therefore advises drivers to take the next exit if they want to avoid traffic.

Talk 5.

A telephone message recording introduces a botanical garden, which is unique for its exotic flowers. It invites callers to go to the reception desk located inside the garden if they need certain information, and finally tells them to press 5 if they want to book tickets. 另外有考同義字：have a reputation = be well-known for

Talk 6.

This is an opening speech introducing a female engineer who is going to talk about a mass transit project. This engineer is qualified for this speech because she has achieved success in many areas, and even won an international award for the building of a structure.

Talk 7.

A woman is leaving a voice message to confirm an order made. She mentions that people are going to send furniture and assemble it on spot at located stated in the order. She also reminds that if the buyer needs to change the delivery location, he should call for arrangements by at least one business day before the delivery date.

Talk 8.

The speaker gives a brief speech about an event which takes place to thank employees for their hard work and commitment throughout the year. After mentioning what the company has achieved in this past year, he also talks about a government project the company has participated in, in which employees donated service hours. Although they did not get paid for the project, the speaker still thinks it is worthwhile, because they have earned great publicity since.
